      Verdict

Shargiah suggested all was not lost at York earlier this month and is looking dangerously well handicapped. Rise Hall has developed into a decent handicapper but has yet to win over a trip this far and is looking high enough in the weights at present. Herculean has started favourite in each of his five career starts but has been beaten in both runs in handicaps and doesn’t look one to rely on. CARADOC only had to be pushed out when trying this trip for the first time here last month. He’s only been raised 3lb and, lightly raced, there should be more to come. Dark Red hasn’t won for a very long time and would prefer easier ground but didn’t run badly at Chester last time and has slipped down the handicap.
