In depth
Verdict
It is folly to write off a Mark Johnston handicapper after a few defeats and CHARLES KINGSLEY can emphasise that fact by defying top weight in this. Already second three times over 1m5f, this slightly longer trip will suit after a couple of runs over 1m4f. The returning African Jazz stays further and is unlikely to fail through lack of fitness while Sovereign Duke will have needed his run at Goodwood in May. Chester winner Infrastructure has only been raised 2lb while Sir Mark Prescott’s string is firing on all cylinders, though Matchmaking is upped in class after a long break.
