RAFFLE PRIZE (NAP) was hampered close home by Earthlight, who runs in the Middle Park later, when only beaten a neck in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville. That was another superb effort from Mark Johnston’s tough filly as the first two pulled clear of Richmond Stakes winner Golden Horde and Arizona, who had won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. None of her rivals here can match that form but Living In The Past did win the Lowther at York and Earthlight’s trainer Andre Fabre runs Tropbeau, who has won a Group 3 and a Group 2 at Deauville in her last two starts, though they were over 7f. Etoile’s win at Naas in May has worked out well but she hasn’t been seen since. Dark Lady just held off Millisle in a Group 3 at Salisbury last time but would require a major step forward here.
