Verdict

Returning following a wind operation, RIVIERA NIGHTS defied a big weight to score at Ascot. He is 6lb higher now but William Buick keeps the partnership intact. Dubai Legacy is a consistent sort but wouldn’t want any further rain. Vitralite found only one too good on his handicap debut at York but has been raised 4lb with last year’s sixth Spanish City 3lb higher. Battered has had a light campaign but Firmament and Gossiping look to be back in the handicapper’s grip. Count Otto has found 7f too far in the past.
