In depth

Verdict

Ed Bethell doesn't waste journeys and James McHenry, who completed a double on soft going in the spring, has found fast ground against him in later handicaps. Order Of Malta was beaten a long way on soft ground at Windsor in April and looked much more at home on good going at Nottingham earlier this month. Obsidian Knight's three career victories have been on Polytrack at Lingfield while Sir Laurence Graff hasn't been seen since beating Kingsley Pride a short-head at Chelmsford in November and has changed stables. The latter will be a massive 13lb better off but had a hard race on heavy ground at Beverley on Monday. PROMOTER has raced in much stronger company since a soft-ground success at Chepstow and can return to winning ways.
