Verdict
FRONTIERSMAN is not straightforward but has a terrific record over this course and distance having won a couple of decent handicaps and finished second to Hawksbill in a Group 2 in July. He was also second in the Coronation Cup at Epsom in June and that form puts him well ahead of today’s rivals. Best Of Days won the Royal Lodge here last year but his three-year-old campaign has been disappointing. Godolphin’s third runner, Red Galileo, makes more appeal as he’s twice been placed in this race and has run well this year since returning from a successful winter campaign in Dubai. Uele River won in the grade at Saint Cloud earlier this month but has picked up a penalty and faces stronger opposition today. Red Verdon is only a handicapper while Connecticut will likely need this after a 754-day absence.
