      Verdict

This race has gone to the favourite in each of the last three years so the market is clearly a useful guide. Without it we'll side with DEAN SWIFT, a Derby entrant representing a yard whose runners come on a bundle for the debuts. With that in mind it was a fair effort for this horse to finish a close-up last of four at Leicester and as the winner and the third have scored since the form looks strong. There are a host of dangers though, headed by Sir Michael Stoute's First Battalion, who attracted each-way support before taking fourth on his second start. The concern would be he's bred for middle-distances so the drop in trip isn't ideal. Sinfonico is a 55,000gns purchase who represents the strongest two-year-old team in operation so he rates pick of the newcomers ahead of Communicator and Dogs May Bark.
