Verdict

Barry Hills has an excellent record in this maiden and it's with that in mind that we lean towards COMMENDED. His Royal Applause colt progressed from a modest debut to take second at York, in the process showing he acts on ground with cut. Having got warm beforehand it was a decent effort so, despite the fact the form has taken some knocks, he's taken to progress again. Cultural Desert has similar form claims to our selection having finished a fair third at Newmarket, just ahead of a subsequent winner, and he's likely to provide the biggest threat. Paradise Place may be the pick of the newcomers as she's a full-sister to a six-furlong juvenile winner who made up into a classy type although support for the Haggas-trained pair Cape Classic and Jawhar shouldn't be ignored.
