Verdict
We will look no further than Great View to land the opener, with Goblin, Fletcher, Golden Boot and Man The Gate seen as his biggest dangers. The selection is having a very good season and has won two of his last five races, including a similar race at Brighton in March. Much as he's now rated nine-pounds higher than for that success referred to, he has the invaluable assistance of Carol Williams, who has a superb record in these races and that will certainly help his chances. Fletcher is the only course and distance winner in the line-up, that success coming from a 12lb-higher mark three years ago. He showed he was in good form by winning on the all-weather recently and could go well here. Golden Boot comes here on the back of a win in a similar race at Brighton, although that race was a lot less competitive than this one, Goblin, even though he has been raised nine pounds for his handicap win at Beverley, looks progressive and almost certainly has better to come. Much as he is stepped up to 12 furlongs for the first time here, we reckon he'll handle it ok. Of the others, Man The Gate remains consistent and should give you a run for your money but we'll stick with Great View, particularly if he is available at each-way odds.
