Verdict
Witchry gets our vote here ahead of Skywards and a number of interesting newcomers. Witchry showed plenty of promise on his Newbury debut and normal improvement alone on that run would see him win a race of this nature. He holds solid claims with Cool Panic, a half-brother to five winners, Diamond Hombre, a quite well-related $105,000 purchase who is out of a very fast mare, and the nicely-bred Fasliyev colt, Hedingham Knight, ones to watch for in the betting from among the debutantes. Much as the Godolphin-owned Skywards was disappointing on his debut, this brother to the high-class No Excuse Needed is surely better than that so do not be surprised by a good run. Overall, though, we will side with Witchry.
