In depth

Verdict

LAPFORD LAD (NAP) and Can You Believe It are both previous course and distance winners but the former arrives in the better form having rallied in the closing stages at Fontwell at the end of May to be beaten only half-a-length by a well-backed favourite. The Gold Bug could go well upped in trip as he ran well for a long way on his handicap debut at Southwell and remains unexposed. The four-year-old Stanley Stanley found only one too good off this mark here three weeks ago and will be fancied to go one better but is giving the selection a hefty 14lb.
