Verdict

QUELL THE STORM can set the record straight at the expense of Corum and Cailin Na Ri. Paul Nicholls' charge was a massive flop at Stratford last time out but there is plenty of reason at the pedigree to suggest that he could be a different proposition with plenty of give underfoot so Sir Alex Ferguson's big money purchase might not be one to consign to the subs bench just yet. Corum was sold out of the Waldron stable having obliged in a Uttoxeter seller in July. A fair dual purpose performer, he may have been better off with a number of these were this a handicap. Cailin Na Ri finished behind our selection in a maiden hurdle in May. She ran respectably enough behind Billie Magern at Worcester and will again be in receipt of lumps of weight from the colts and geldings. Consulate was highly tried in Ireland when trained by Dermot Weld and confirmed himself to be no back number when sinking an odds-on Nicholls hotpot at Stratford. Lord Of Sehayl showed little for Venetia Williams and is tried in a tongue tie this afternoon. Occasionally Yours got no further than the second flight on debut though is sure to have had plenty of schooling since. Madam Crystal is fairly stoutly bred though her performances between the flags in Ireland were nothing special. That said, anything Tim Vaughan sends out at this time of the season should not be dismissed. Galilean would be a factor based on his third in a Navan maiden for previous connections though his recent efforts have been very little to write home about. Quell The Storm, like many has questions, but is taken to provide the answers.
