Verdict

Unless Logsdail is anything special, this looks best left to Downtherefordancin in a weak start to proceedings at Newton Abbot. Downtherefordancin bids to make up for his lapse at Bangor recently when, with the race sewn up, he unshipped Tom Scudamore at the last flight. Second on his hurdles debut at the same track earlier, the ex-Simon Dow inmate should make amends here granted a clear round, and just to make sure, Tony McCoy takes over in the driving seat. Logsdail has not won on the Flat since scoring at Carlisle last year and left the Ramsdens after shaping quite well at Newmarket in July. Sure to have been schooled well, he nevertheless is likely to need the outing. Barneys Lyric was a lightly raced maiden for Roger Charlton and may make a go of it at the winter game, especially with stamina-laden Slip Anchor on the dam's side. He is another for the future, but for now Downtherefordancin is the one to back, albeit at cramped odds.
