In depth
Verdict
Ruby Gale Achilles Wings and Charlies Future look the ones to concentrate on in a tight affair with slight preference going to Ruby Gale. The gelding from the Phillip Hobbs yard was a fair chaser at his best and he returns to hurdles off what looks a fair mark. He goes well fresh and with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat. Achilles Wings rates thew main danger he was a fair fourth behind Good Potential last time and is surer to be suited by the step up in trip. Charlies Future could also go well he was a fair third behind Glen Warrior last time and that form reads well in the context of this race. However his best form to date has come on much softer ground over a longer trip so he is opposed here. Of the remainder D'Argent is from a yard in form so is worth noting in the market but he showed very little last season so we are happy to side with Ruby Gale.
