Verdict
Fast Mix seems to only be at his best under Tony McCoy and the combination can take care of Lord Lington, Golfagent and Bright Green. Fast Mix is no stranger to carrying big weights in handicap hurdles and while one has to take on board two recent disappoints, he is a much better performer with the champion in the saddle and he can defy top-weight on this occasion. Lord Lington was impressive at Folkestone before Christmas and at the time, looked one to keep on the right side of. His three races since that day has seen him beaten by a total of over sixty lengths. The handicapper has dropped him 2lb since his last run although that is far from generous if the racecourse evidence is to be believed. Golfagent has won two recent races over hurdles, one in selling grade and one in a desperately slow time at Taunton. Connections have been brave to take on this opposition and their charge will need a career best to win this. Bright Green was an Ed Dunlop cast-off on the flat and was perhaps noted by his high head carriage. He won a heavy ground hurdle at Chepstow in February but probably can handle any surface. The form of that race has been upheld by second-placed Red Ruffles, who dotted up at Doncaster a few weeks later. Indian Sun is useful in selling grade but a rise of 9lb for a recent win in a modest seller seems a little unfortunate to say the least. Fast Mix is taken to land yet another prize for Martin Pipe.
