Verdict
Galilean, formerly trained in Ireland, could be of interest first time in a handicap for David Pipe but he has been well held in all three starts for his current connections and is hard to back with confidence and preference is for MARIA ANTONIA, who gets the vote with Olivino rated the best of the rest. The selection has been in fine form of late having not been out of the first two in his last four starts including winning well over course and distance two starts ago. Although higher in the weights today and now up 12lbs since that success, Alison Thorpe's gelding has every chance of resuming winning ways. Gordon Elliott's McMurdo Sound is less exposed than most of these after just six career outings and has to be considered but he needs to improve to trouble the judge, while Boogie Dancer has struggled against the handicapper since winning at Wincanton in May. Triple Bluff is strictly held by Olivino on running over course and distance last month and Bernard Llewellyn's gelding should again get the better of him but an 11lb rise for the winner that day is harsh and a safer option looks to be Maria Antonia.
