In depth

Verdict

Moon Melody has shown improved form over hurdles since joining Evan Williams but he disappointed back over fences at Market Rasen earlier this month and he looks best watched in a race taken to go to QUIL EST BEAU, who is preferred to Working Late. The last mentioned showed improved form when landing a selling handicap at Fontwell last month and a 5lb rise for that success looks perfectly fair so he has to be respected. Gem Mill was been pulled up in his last two starts for Alison Thorpe over a year ago and may do better now with Tim Vaughan so has to be considered, while Dante's Back has been running creditably in recent starts in point-to-points but this is tougher. Toi Express ran better in a classified chase here last time but a 5lb rise since then makes this tougher and a safer option looks to be Quil Est Beau. David Pipe's gelding was good value for his win at Worcester last time and he is taken to defy the 7lb rise for that success.
