In depth

Verdict

A big prize here for the track and plenty of interest with a big field, ad the leading players look to be Ladino, Wee Dinns, Complete Outsider and Openide, and we take the latter to score. Brendan Duke has enjoyed a fine start to his career as a licence holder and the five-year-old gelding Openide can give him another decent prize. A 21 length scorer over this trip at Market Rasen last month, his is fit and firing, acts on soft ground and looks capable of running a very big race. David Pipe's Wee Dinns steps up in trip to 2m 6f here and she has been in tremendous form this summer, winning four of her last six starts. She has gone up almost two stone as a result, but she still looks capable of going very well from this mark, although cut won't help her. Ladino has shown som form on soft in Germany in the past, though has never won with cut in the ground, and Philip Hobbs's runner can also go well in his attempt to complete a hat-trick, while another hat-trick seeker, Complete Outsider, is going the right way and has a nice racing weight here to boot, so he looks a big danger over a trip that suits. But Openide won with any amount in hand at Market Rasen and can take the big race.
