In depth

Verdict

Starving Marvin did win a four-runner race on heavy ground at Sandown in March but was then well beaten under a penalty at Newbury and also carries 7lb extra here. CAPELAND is likely to be a short price but should open his account over timber having finished a close-up third when tackling hurdles for the first time at Chepstow 12 days ago. Quarenta won a bumper on Polytrack in December but hasn't been seen since so is best watched. Jockey bookings would suggest Book Direct is the pick of Philip Hobbs' pair while Lillington is preferred to stablemate Cucklington.
