In a very poor contest, Shared Account gets the vote over stablemate Windy Spirit, with Scarface, The Spacer and Hi Laurie just about worth a mention. Evan Williams has no less than three runners here, and it is the two old stagers Windy Spirit and Shared Account that look the pair to concentrate on. Preference is for the latter who made his first visit to the west-country track a winning one when scoring in similar company in July. Since then the ex-Irish veteran has been out of luck over fences, but has obvious claims back in this grade over timber. He gets the nod over Windy Spirit who was seven-lengths behind him in a beginners' chase at Worcester last time. He had also earlier been successful in a seller over track-and-trip, but that was a lady riders' affair, and although he is trusted over the trip, does not make quite as much appeal. Scarface will be sharper for a recent outing on the Flat, but he only lost his maiden tag earlier this year, having not been at all reliable in the past. The Spacer needs to get his jumping together, and Hi Laurie might be a better proposition as he goes well on the ground. However, whether he can dominate all the way round is debatable, and we would rather side with Shared Account.
