In depth

Verdict

Muree Queen gets the vote in this maiden hurdle with Istead Rise and Flying Grey rating the main dangers. The selection was a fair second behind Mud Monkey last time out. That form stands out here and in the hope that she acts on this softer surface she gets the vote. Istead Rise hails from a yard that has a good record in these events so although he has only shown a modicum of ability at up to a mile on the flat he should be watched in the market. Flying Grey was a fair fifth on his debut behind Soliya and is sure to improve so he has definite place claims. Bluecrop Boy is another that has shown promise but he has looked a short runner and is opposed on that basis. Of the remainder Sad Times has won over seven furlongs on the flat and if he sees out the trip he will not be far away but that is a big if and for the winner we return to Muree Queen.
