Verdict

KING OF THE NIGHT should prove far too strong for this opposition and is readily preferred to Off Gallivanting and Regal Music. The selection failed to justify favouritism on debut at Kilbeggan for Adrian Maguire but showed enough promise to persuade his new connections to take a chance on him and they were rewarded with an immediate dividend when he ran out a ready winner at Stratford. There was plenty to like about his subsequent defeat at Ascot, that form has been given a boost, and he's hard to oppose. Off Gallivanting ran well enough on debut but didn't really build on that in defeat on softer ground at Bangor which leaves him with plenty to find on the form book whilst Regal Music will also need to step up considerably on the form that she showed when finishing a fair fourth at Kempton. His Lordship is a half-brother to What A Friend so is a potential fly in the ointment whilst Blitzed Eckie makes a little appeal on paper but it's hard to get away from King Of The Night.
