In depth
Verdict
Paxford Jack only has Idealko to beat to give McCoy yet another winner, with Just Muckin Around the only other one worth considering. In reality, the two recent winners in the line-up should have this between them, and narrow preference is for Paxford Jack who gained his first success since November when getting home under the champion at Fakenham the week before last. The Milton Harris-trained nine-year-old is normally ridden by Ollie McPhail, but was given the most positive and strongest of rides to prevail at the Norfolk track, his winning margin of 10 lengths disguising how hard it was for most of the way. The softer conditions and slight drop back in trip should help him offset the seven-pound penalty here, and he is taken to burn off the threat of Idealko. The latter gained an overdue success at Bangor recently in a small field and has been raised from a mark of 93 to 102 for his pains. That will make it tough for him to match the selection, and with the rest hard to fancy, including Just Muckin Around, Paxford Jack can make all.
