In depth

Verdict

JACK VALENTINE (NAP) has never finished out of the first three and came good over hurdles at Exeter in the spring. An opening mark of 110 in handicaps looks generous and Hugh Nugent’s claim is also a plus. Breffniboy followed up a win at Exeter with a third at Uttoxeter and should be thereabouts again. Russian Exile is unexposed and Kerb Line has been getting closer with Nearly Famous fit from the Flat. The Raven's Return is consistent but high enough in the weights
