In depth

Verdict

Ripples Maid handled the cut in the ground when completing a hat trick at Newmarket over six furlongs recently and the drop back to the minimum trip should not inconvenience Jonathan Geake¿s filly, who is taken to win again with Lady Orpen and Grazeon Gold Blend rated the main dangers. Irish raider Lady Orpen should go on the ground and comes here, like the selection, in good form this term but she may now be a shade high in the weights. Hugh Morrison¿s Prince Tamino made an encouraging return on the all-weather at Kempton and could be of interest back on turf. He makes more appeal than Charles Darwin, who has given little cause for optimism of late. Grazeon Gold Blend looks to be going the right way and has to be considered off what seems a fair mark. Scooby Dude lost no caste in defeat behind Prince Namid at Haydock recently and has to be respected but may need some assistance from the handicapper and preference is for the in-form Ripples Maid.
