In depth

Verdict

The way LETHAL GLAZE stayed on last time suggests that he can follow up over this extra two furlongs, while Dubai Crest looks a threat. The selection had gone well enough in maidens over trips arguably too short for him but once Richard Hannon stepped him up to a mile last time, when making his handicap debut, he showed he probably will be more of a middle-distance type than a sprinter. Although it was not a red-hot race there he now looks capable of finding more for the longer trip. Dubai Crest is another who should improve for further here. Amanda Perrett's colt got up to win by a neck at Kempton last time and was doing all his best work at the end, so he is very much respected. The same goes for Balladiene, whose 4lb penalty for a mile Yarmouth win does not look excessive. Steve Gollings managed to get a win out of Sergeant Pink at Beverley in August but he looked out of his depth when plunged into a much better race than this last time. This is more his level and we anticipate a better showing. Little else makes appeal.
