Verdict

Whilst Tamarind Hill was impressive enough last time we prefer the claims of ADMIRABLE DUCHESS, with Danzoe another to consider. Our pick hasn't yet won a race but she's only had six tries, the last of them suggesting her winning turn was imminent. That day she was keen and got stuck for room before flying home to go down by the narrowest of margins and a pound rise in the weights isn't nearly enough to put us off this improving three-year-old. Tamarind Hill took 22 tries to get off the mark but he was impressive here last time and, as a course and distance winner arriving in top form, clearly rates the one to beat. However, the race he won was a poor one and he was favoured by the draw so with 6lbs extra to carry we're inclined to take him on. Danzoe started off life in handicaps off 83 last summer so the fact he's now rated 67 shows how frustrating he's been. That said, since joining Christine Dunnett he's put together a good run of efforts and another looks in store, although caution is advised for win only punters as he's perhaps not the toughest in a battle. Macroy is another to consider for the Millman's; he's only had five starts and ran well in a competitive affair last time, but this drop back to the minimum trip may not be ideal. Midget is weighted to close the gap on Tamarind Hill and should do that whilst Avongate is thrown in on his maiden win but hasn't performed close to that level since, so we'll return to Admirable Duchess.
