Verdict
JOHN KIRKUP (NAP) has his ground again and handled the drop back to 5f at Pontefract. He has won off a higher mark in the past so can end the campaign with another victory ahead of last month’s Musselburgh runner-up Fox Hill, who is probably a couple of pounds too high now. Show Palace was only fourth in this last year but is 8lb lower, though hasn’t hit previous heights this season. Grandfather Tom is also a course and distance winner while Lincoln Park just came up short over 6f at Haydock last month, though has spent most of this season racing over 7f.
