Verdict

This is a typically competitive looking end of season maiden with plenty of lightly and unraced two-year-olds lining up including several with chances, Non Dom, Petrovsky and Class Is Class among them, but it is DROP THE HAMMER that gets the vote. The selection lost no caste in defeat when chasing home Allformary on her debut in a heavy ground maiden at Haydock and Tom Tate's filly sets the standard on that effort. Michael Jarvis has his string in great form so his runner Putra One has to be respected but he would need to improve on the form shown on his Newmarket debut. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Flodden Field is probably the most interesting of the newcomers in the line up being bred to handle the cut in the ground. The William Haggas-trained Prohibition should improve for racing on more testing ground being by Danehill Dancer, while Hugh Morrison's Non Dom ran promisingly on his Newbury debut and has to be considered here. Mark Johnston's newcomer Petrovsky and Sir Michael Stoute's Class Is Class are others worthy of strong consideration but it is Drop The Hammer that gets the verdict.
