In depth

Verdict

Kaatibb, a half-brother to a winner in France, can only improve on his debut at Sandown in September while Barley was only beaten a short-head over course and distance in October and may not have been suited by a drop back to 7f at Doncaster 10 days ago. He lacks the scope of CUMULONIMBUS (NAP), however, with Charlie Fellowes’ colt noted staying on strongly at Doncaster in the autumn when finishing a length ahead of an 85-rated subsequent winner. Haku was third at Kempton in November while debutant Post Impressionist is worth a market check, though has already been gelded.
