Verdict
It's a while since SPIRIT QUARTZ was in the winner's enclosure but three of his last four runs have been in Group 1 company and he was only beaten a neck in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York last August when today's rival Humidor was a further two-and-a-half lengths away in fourth. He should outclass these after a couple of runs at Meydan. Bogart was a smart juvenile but found life more of a struggle last season and was a long way behind the selection and Humidor at York. Swiss Cross and Stepper Point are probably the pick of the remainder but have a lot to find to trouble the principals at the weights.
