          Verdict

          Green Lagonda is the suggestion here with Raccoon and Azygous others that could feature in an open race. The selection represents James Given who landed a valuable handicap at Newmarket last weekend so clearly has his string in rude health. This one already has a run under his belt having finished a close second at Ripon last month. He's 3lbs higher as a result but should be capable of going close. Raccoon is having his first run of a new campaign this afternoon but goes well fresh (a winner over course and distance on last year's return) and is 9lbs lower than when last successful in a handicap. Azygous has only won one of his twenty eight starts on the turf but he has made the frame on five occasions and comes here on the back of a couple of decent efforts on the all-weather. He could make the frame but Green Lagonda appeals as a likelier winner.
