      Verdict

MIND THE CRACK showed signs of inexperience on his debut but was only beaten a neck with Alnadir, due to run in the previous race, back in fourth. A good run from the latter would boost confidence in Mark Johnston’s colt. Star Safari failed to get involved at Newmarket on his debut and Octavia Minor has not progressed as expected but a couple of the newcomers are worthy of consideration representing powerful yards. Roger Charlton’s Tempus is a half-brother to a Group 2 winner among others while Surfman is related to the high-class Kiteurf, a Group 1 winner in France.
