In depth

Verdict

Il Cavaliere returns to the Flat fit and in good form from hurdling and should feature towards the head of the market, although his trainer is in the best of form and he is not necessarily well in at the weights. His stablemate Bhutan also has been over obstacles this winter and the pair are closely matched here. Xellance has to give weight all round to his rivals and although is not without a chance may find one or two better in at the handicap. Adelphi Boy's first effort at this trip was none too impressive and others are preferred while Sashay will relish the test of stamina and should improve on a poor run at Kempton. Reg Hollinshead's team are in good form and the pick could be his representative, High Policy, who has been in great form on the all-weather and is well handicapped on the turf.
