Verdict
In The Fan lost no caste in defeat behind Brecon Beacon at Newmarket last month but the winner there let the form down earlier this week and preference is for Northern Splendour, who gets the vote over Le Corvee. The selection stepped up on his debut effort at headquarters when landing a seven-furlong maiden at Redcar under similar conditions last time. The extra furlong should suit and he is taken to follow up. Alan King's Le Corvee belied odds of 66/1 on his Doncaster debut and has to be respected over a trip that should suit. Roger Charlton's Blaise Hollow showed improved form for the step up to this trip at Windsor last time but this looks tougher. The market is likely to provide the best clues for the chances of Clive Brittain's newcomer Asharon but this should go to Northern Splendour, who looks a progressive performer.
