Verdict

It's very late in the year to be making a first appearance but debutants Rockalong, Albasharah and Zeyran all have nice pedigrees and represent powerful yards. BIG JOHNNY D wasn't beaten far in a competitive contest over this trip on soft ground at Newmarket in July before finding 1m4f too far at HQ at the end of last month. He can finally shed his maiden tag here with Claude Monet proving equally difficult to win with. The latter had every chance when beaten at odds-on at Pontefract last time. Indian Petal was fourth at Wolverhampton in April but hasn't been seen since while Omar Khayyam needs to improve on a well-beaten fourth at Epsom if he's to get involved.
