Verdict
Montbretia is a confident choice to break her maiden here, with Finney Hill and Time Control others who should go well. The Henry Cecil-trained selection was runner-up in a strong Newbury maiden in April and has not been seen since. The winner, Clowance, and the third, have both come out and won Listed races since, so the form has worked out really well and unless there is a rapid improver among the field here she looks booked for gold. Finney Hill improved from her debut effort to run well on ground that was probably a bit too soft last time, so now on a sound surface she could improve again. Time Control was better for the step up to this trip at Doncaster and she looks capable of making the frame, while the beautifully bred London Bid is probably likely to show us her true worth when she eventually goes handicapping. There are any number of others who can show us more but favourites have a great record in this contest and Montbretia can add to that tally.
