Verdict
Despite the poor turnout, it doesn't make winner finding any easier with all four runners looking to have a chance of sorts. Tip The Dip's chance could have already been given a boost by his stablemate in the previous race, while his trainer has a line to Little Englander, who finished runner-up to Felicity at Windsor. Sharp Rigging will be better for his outing here earlier this month, but a chance is taken with newcomer Claradotnet, who is a half-sister to three winners, including 10-furlong winner Generous Diana. Her stable have had a quiet time through the Summer, after a promising Spring, but there have been more encouraging are signs of late that the stable are on the way back and with a strike rate of 21% with its three-year-olds, she is a hopeful selection. Tip The Dip is entitled to improve from his debut, where he was well backed against his stablemate, and only just lost out in a photo. He will be much wiser here and will be tough to beat. Little Englander may do better in handicaps, while a similar comment may also apply to Sharp Rigging, who was left for dead by Ice Palace here at the beginning of the month. However, this trip should suit him better as he is a half-brother to 10-furlong winner Chem's Truce, but Claretdotnet doesn't look to face a stiff task on this racecourse debut, and she is taken to put a smile on Henry Cecil's face.
