Verdict

In a maiden where we actually have some form to go at we can't look past the chances of the standard setting CAPEABILITY who looks to have plenty in hand over Papyrian and the near miss merchant Mr Udagawa. We are willing to forgive the pick his last poor run where he pulled away any chance of scoring. It's his penultimate start that sets the form standard here where he was a creditable sixth in a valuable race at headquarters. Generally a reliable sort this step down in trip should get him off the mark. Papyrian has nine pounds to find on the official ratings after a run of near misses in maidens that have produced plenty of subsequent winners. Firm ground seemed to work against him last time when seemly taking a step backward so he should be in close order again here. Mr Udagawa is nothing if not consistent so looks sure to give his best but has plenty to find this time and Star Gazing is bred well enough for a good debut and could get into the places. This won't be a maiden for the notebooks and Capeabilty should be slightly too good for this lot.
