Verdict
Nothing makes especially strong appeal in a moderate contest but AMADEUS ROX has shown enough on both starts this term to indicate a win at this level of competition is well within his compass. He has clearly improved for both a gelding operation and a step-up in trip and this additional quarter mile could well elicit further progression. He should go close off his unchanged mark. Mark Johnston's Dominating is hardly the most consistent around but has some useful form at his best and he too is now asked to tackle a longer trip and will prove dangerous if on a going day. Stragar is the one to note in the market moving into handicaps for the first time and taking a major rise in distance too.
