Verdict

Location is a sporting option in a tricky maiden that provides very little worthwhile evidence to be going on with. The Godolphin-owned Gamila along with Chasing Amy are introduced at a modest level, so are others worth bearing in mind. Chasing Amy is a half-sister to Dixie Belle - herself a winner on debut for Mick Quinlan before going on to make an impact in Group races towards the end of her career. Support for her in the betting ring would be very interesting. As the most expensive purchase in the line up, Gamila is also likely to have the on-course bookmakers diving for cover if support arrives in the betting ring. Godolphin have only just broken into double figures with the two-year-olds they have introduced this season; so it is hard to gauge where she stands in the pecking order with the 'boys in blue'. A lack of fancy entries suggests a race-by-race approach will be employed, so a watching brief may be advisable if the odds are cramped on this occasion. In which case, the speedily-bred Location may be a more interesting betting proposition. The Amanda Perrett-trained filly is bred to be effective at this sort of trip and, as she is probably going to be available at a sensible price, the Khalid Abdulla-owned filly is worth a punt in the opener.
