Racey Rachel is a speculative selection, while Alfredthegrey and Giggling Monkey can also be considered as options in a very modest contest. Giggling Monkey has hardly progressed since she made an encouraging start at Chepstow in May. Still, she has at least been consistent in her profile as 'an also ran', so has very little to find to get competitive at this level. Her experience of the trip is a positive and she is one of the more likely candidates for the top honours. Similar comments apply to Alfredthegrey, the preferred choice from the Mick Channon team over stablemate Heavenly Saint; who seems to have lost her way just now. Alfredthegrey is starting to get some leniency from the handicapper and can be found a race at this level somewhere along the line. However, the unexposed Racey Rachel is the most interesting contender for the time being. She coped well with the step up to a mile last time out and, assuming she is capable of further progression, Ed Vaughan's filly looks worth chancing here.
