Verdict

The soft ground will help a few of these battle-hardened handicappers and course winners Flying Applause and West End Lad could both make the frame if in the mood. Extraterrestrial shouldn't be ignored but Crown Counsel has struggled to get his head in front this year and Myboyalfie may be hard pressed to defy a new career-high mark. First Post has gone up 4lb for a narrow-margin win at Goodwood but can't be ruled out and Uncle Dermot has been placed at Brighton and Windsor since running away with a Salisbury handicap at the start of the month but A'JUBA is the only three-year-old in this and very much unexposed. Confidence will have been boosted by his win at Pontefract and blinkers are fitted here to help him concentrate - he can make a successful handicap debut.
