          Verdict

          Cardinal's latest success came over 5f on soft ground at Sandown in June. He's been fairly consistent since that victory and has leading claims in this. Recent C&D winner Ambitious Icarus isn't without a chance as he was only beaten half-a-length at Musselburgh last time while stable companion Captain Scooby likes soft ground. The hat-trick-seeking Danzoe, last week's Windsor scorer Whitecrest and veteran Sandwith are others to consider but El McGlynn finished behind I'll Be Good at Redcar at the start of the month. AUBRIETIA has already won five times this year, twice over C&D. She's gone up 6lb since the latest of those but regular pilot David Bergin's claim takes care of the extra and Alan McCabe's tough filly can score again.
