      In depth

      Verdict

2009 was the last time a UK-trained horse won this but they launch a strong challenge this year. Loxley appeared not to last home in last month’s St Leger but landed a double in France before that including a Group 2 contest. Whisky Baron was narrowly beaten in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood on his debut for the Haggas yard but won a Grade 1 event over 1m2f when trained in South Africa while Fabricate won a Group 3 at Windsor last time but this is tougher. KNIGHT TO BEHOLD (NAP) beat Kew Gardens to land the Lingfield Derby Trial back in May and counted the French Derby winner Study Of Man among his victims when winning a Group 2 over today’s distance at Deauville in August. Harry Dunlop’s colt looks to have every chance on that form and is also fancied to get the better of Noor Al Hawa of the home challengers.
