        Verdict

        There will be some long faces if the Godolphin-owned VICTOR LUDORUM doesn't make a winning return to action. He confirmed his position as the top juvenile in France after an unbeaten campaign with a comfortable victory in the Group 1 Jean-Luc Lagardes here in October. He had Ecrivain and Helter Skelter behind that day and should confirm the form though the latter could provide the main threat as he was staying on strongly at the finish. Devil hasn't done enough to suggest he could beat the selection but the remainder all ran in the Listed race won by Pisanello on heavy ground at Saint-Cloud in March so fitness won't be a concern.
