Verdict
The day's feature race at the Scottish track can go to Osiris, with Kock De La Vesvre, Isard III, Parisian Storm and Emperor Ross making for an interesting affair. Quite a few of these would prefer faster ground, but Osiris will not mind any give underfoot and is selected after his excellent second to Monterey Bay at Punchestown in April. He was campaigned against animals of the calibre of War Of Attrition when trained in Ireland but was sent to Evan Williams as his owner thought there would be more opportunities on less testing going over here. That said, he still likes to get his toe in and off just 10st 1lb, he looks ready to run another big race. Kock De La Vesvre made a mistake two out behind Ballycassidy at Kelso that did not help his cause, but this course and distance winner has topweight to overcome today. Isard !!!'s stable won this last year, but he needs fast ground to be seen to best effect. Emperor Ross won a hunter chase well enough last time but this is tougher, while Andrew Thornton is an interesting booking for the other Williams runner Parisian Storm, but nothing will sway us from Osiris.
