Verdict
Fagan, runner-up behind Unowhatimeanharry in the Albert Bartlett last year, made his chasing debut in a decent contest at Fairyhouse at the turn of the year but was pulled up before the turn for home. He’s undoubtedly better than that and, after a break, may be ready to make a race of it with likely favourite BEAT THAT (NAP). A dual Grade 1 winner over the smaller obstacles, Nicky Henderson’s nine-year-old is jumping fences late in life but can be excused a narrow defeat by the more-experienced Brother Tedd at Uttoxeter over a trip too short. Baby Bach won nicely over track and trip in May but has to give 7lb to two potentially smart novices.
