In depth

Verdict

An open-looking handicap with the weights headed by The Unit, who is eased in grade again but wasn’t at his best last season. Instant Replay has only gone up 3lb for winning at Sedgefield and Oakley Brown takes off 5lb but he is a specialist at that track while Pookie Pekan does best at Carlisle. Lucinda Russell’s pair Mint Gold and Boy's On Tour are previous course winners, however. The former may be best over 2m but the latter is back over his trip. ROCK ON ROCCO is improving and can complete the hat-trick upped another 7lb if he cuts out the mistakes. Collooney still has scope but Isaac Wonder still has stamina to prove.
