In depth

Verdict

A dual hurdling winner, Mulberry Hill looks best of the home team but did take a heavy fall on chasing debut and a clear round would do her the world of good. She had travelled pretty well that day and is a key contender, especially with Hogan taking 3lb off her workable handicap mark. CHAMP DE GANE was sure to win when coming to grief at the last at Ayr four starts back and looked a winner-in-waiting, but has not been quite so good since. He's only six though, remains open to improvement over fences and is worth another chance. Until her latest run, Fruit Blossom was in good form over hurdles and has to be of interest on chasing debut for Gordon Elliott and Pearl Of The West shaped well on her fencing bow last time, although she hasn't visited the winner's enclosure since 2019.
